About Us

A little about who we are!

We are a small home based business in the central southern United States. As bird lovers ourselves, we found that finding quality, SAFE, and enriching toys was a huge problem. Most big box stores carried a very small selection of cheap China made toys. Many of the online stores, while having a decent selection, the toys were always far to small, not made well enough to stand up to a large beak, or were loaded with unsafe toy parts. So we started to make our own toys for our birds. People loved them so much, that we were regularly asked to sell our toys. We were also sending huge boxes of toys to rescues across the country. We thought what a better way to help support the supplies for making the toys for the rescues, than to sell our toys. So the Birdie Box Bird Toy Store was born. We are always coming up with new designs and fun toys, that really focus on foraging behaviors and keeping a bird engaged. We have become known for our large wood toys. They are so popular that we ship them worldwide. We cut, sand, and drill all of our our own wood, using quality pine or Douglas fir. Each toy is handmade and inspected before being sent out to a customer. All new designs are tested by our own birds, to check for safety, quality, and durability. We take Bio-security very seriously. We do everything we can to ensure there is no cross contamination. We have a completely different building with a separate air system, where we build and store our toys. Our work shop is 100% bird free. Our birds are checked annually by our avian vet. We do not buy, sell, flip, or otherwise have birds coming in and out of our home on a regular basis. Due to our concerns of cross contamination, we never accept returns of any kind by any customer. Should an issue arise and a customer is unhappy, we will gladly work with that customer to rectify and remedy the concern. We pride ourselves on our outstanding customer service, as well as our quality and safe products. Remember, a busy beak is a happy beak! ORDERING: Since we actually build our own toys, rather than outsourcing them, we are in unique position to customize our line. If you worry about a particular material that we use, let us know your preferences, often we can substitute another material. We do carry other toy makers toys, but only those that we are confident are safe. MATERIALS: We use only safe materials in all of our toys. Our woods are all untreated and pesticide free, with many of them coming from our property to ensure this to be true. We use nickel plated chain in our metal chain toys, which is deemed safe by the AVA. We do offer stainless steel chain as an option. We use stainless steel wire in our wire toys only.
